Our History & Expertise
With over 29 years in healthcare, Brent brings extensive experience in payer organizations, provider networks, health systems, mergers & acquisitions, and joint venture development. His career includes over a decade of leadership in the health insurance industry, followed by a successful transition to the healthcare provider sector, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both payer and provider dynamics.
As Senior Vice President & Chief Business Development Officer at University Medical Center Health System, he led business development, managed care partnerships, payer strategies, and the clinically integrated network, while also serving on the TeamChoice Board of Directors, a joint PPO/PHO network.
Now retired from UMC after 18 wonderful years, Brent leads King Healthcare Consulting, leveraging his expertise to provide cost-effective, high-value strategies for employers, healthcare providers, and payers navigating today’s complex healthcare landscape.
Brent holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration, is Board Certified in Healthcare Management by the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Licensed Employer Group Health Insurance Broker/Agent, and a subject matter expert and speaker for the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
A dedicated community leader, Brent serves on various boards and organizations, alongside his wife and three children, in Lubbock, Texas, where they remain active in their church and local volunteer efforts.
